1) Set-up team or Breakdown Team -
Hardly the most glamorous, but defintely one of the most important responsibilities in making Music on Main happen. Plus, you don't have to miss the show if you're on set-up or breakdown! The Set-up Team will make sure that we get fencing, banners, tables, and tents set up for each show. The Breakdown Team will take down fencing, banners, tables, and tents at the end of each night. Finally, breakdown volunteers make sure that we leave the park as we found it every night - a CRITICAL job to ensure that we continue to be welcome in Victor City Park. The Set-up/Breakdown team will work under the direction of the Set-up/Breakdown Volunteer Coordinator.
Set-up team volunteers arrive at the park around 12noon and finish up at about 2:00pm. The Breakdown Team will report at 9:30pm in front of the beer shed to begin their tasks and will be done between 10:30 - 11:00pm. Please be advised that some heavy lifting is involved in fence setup and breakdown.
2) Concessions - Beer/ Wine/ Merchandise -
These folks serve beer and wine, check IDs, sell merchandise, and collect money. Volunteers in this position must be over 21, organized, and comfortable with fast-paced work. They are responsible for setting up the concessions areas, and cleaning them up at the end of each event. The Concessions team will work under the direction of the Concessions Volunteer Coordinator.
Concessions volunteers have two shifts to choose from: 4 - 9:00 and 5:30 - 10:30. You should expect to work throughout the show, but if enough volunteers sign up, we will prioritize giving 30 minute breaks so you can enjoy a little music. On huge nights, that may not happen. Special arrangements can be made if you have a conflict that won't allow you to work a full shift. Please just communicate with us in advance.
3) Entry -
In order to get accurate counts and demographics on Music on Main attendees, we need a stellar entrance team. Entry volunteers will be responsible for taking data on attendees and collecting donations. It's a super fun, social job and we need people who are willing to remind guests how amazing Music on Main is, and how important it is to donate just a few bucks at the door.
Entry volunteers have two shifts to choose from 5:15 - 8:45 and 6:15 - 9:45. They should expect to be VERY busy from 6pm to about 8:30pm, at which time entries will slow down. Set up help is part of the expectation for the early shift. Clean up is part of the expectation for the second shift. We can explore the possibility of a modified shift if you have a conflict, just let us know. Entry Volunteers will work under the Entry Coordinator.
4) Friday Morning Cleanup Helper -
We are looking for one person each week to help the Program Manager put the finishing touches on cleanup each week. You will meet the PM at the Park Friday morning. Together we will; micro-pick any trash not seen in the dark of the late night before, tend to any lost and found or equipment left behind, pull trash cans to their weekly storage area and return the Park to it's pre-show condition.
This task meets at 8am at Victor City Park and is essential to our continued welcome in Victor City Park. Friday Morning Cleanup should take a quick hour (possibly an hour and a half on mornings after busier shows). The meeting time can be flexible depending on the volunteer's needs.
